ASWCD was invited to participate in Augusta University Literacy Center's Family Fun Fair this past Saturday at the Maxwell Theatre on Augusta University's Summerville Campus. We teamed up with The AU College of Education, Porkchop Productions, and Reed Creek Nature Park to create a great educational events for CSRA families that included art activities, a reptile demonstration, water science activities and an interactive performance of Cinderella.
ASWCD provided water quality activity books, bookmarks, and water cycle posters for all attendees. We also introduced "The Reading Corner", a new component of our typical festival/fair booths that include a variety of water science related children's books and a shady spot with chairs for parents and children to read. Students also had the opportunity to journey through the water cycle using dice, chenille craft sticks, and beads.
